Jamaican austerity policy leads to setbacks

Jamaica's main trade group is criticizing the government's latest move to increase taxes, warning that the effort could lead to closures, job cuts and economic setbacks. 

The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) in a statement urged the government to review new taxes imposed under International Monetary Fund requirements. 

The IMF said on Friday that it had reached a staff-level agreement with the Jamaican government.
